The definition of a jewel is that which provides joy.

Jewelry is a sacred art form that stretches back thousands of years to the dawn of civilization. Across cultures, jewels are given as tokens of love, affection, and esteem in order to commemorate special events or rites of passage. Easily held and transported, a jewel can travel the world and become a part of the one who cares for it. Each seemingly small piece contains a whole world, time, and culture. The expressive possibilities of the story and jewelry connect us all to our past and propel us towards a future of unity.

Miranda’s jewelry designs are inspired by her love of art, nature, and philosophy. A highly spiritual artist, she connects intuitively with her clients to translate their stories into bejeweled narratives, or “soul portraits,” as she calls them. Many of her designs come to her in visions and dreams. Through the age-old techniques of granulation, chasing & repoussé, enameling, and engraving, she combines abstraction and figuration to create jewels as personal as they are universal.

Like the Ancients, Miranda believes precious metals and gemstones to possess magical powers, or virtues: “The same words used to describe these cosmic materials also describe spiritual qualities: eternal, invincible, noble, refined, virtuous, etc….Every time a speck of gold melts into a granule, a planet is born.” Miranda produces many jewels entirely by herself and can frequently be heard cooing sweet nothings at her signature high-carat golds while she works. Others require the collaboration of Miranda’s network of jewelers, whom she considers extended family.

All metals are 100% recycled and certified by SCS Global Systems or are artisanally mined and brought to the US through Fairmined™, Fairtrade™, and Fair Congo™. Joyaux Marisol is proud to partner with Eros™ Diamonds, the first gemstones in the world to be made from roses. Eros Diamonds are 100% transparent in origin and labor. A percentage of profits is donated to nonprofits that support survivors of economic hardships, domestic abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
